Embark on a cinematic journey through the glittering streets of Las Vegas with the Viva Las Vegas Movie Tour at The Neon Museum. Our guided experience invites film enthusiasts and city explorers alike to delve into the iconic backdrops and neon-lit landscapes that have graced the silver screen.
The tour unveils the magic behind some of the most memorable movie moments set against the vibrant backdrop of Las Vegas. The Neon Museum, with its eclectic collection of neon signs and vintage marquees, serves as a living testament to the city's lasting cinematic allure. From classic films to modern blockbusters, these signs become a reel of memories, transporting visitors into the heart of the movies.
Your tour begins in the La Concha Motel lobby, which serves as the Museum’s Visitor Center. The building grabbed the attention of Martin Scorsese and was used as a setting for “Ace” Rothstein (Robert DeNiro) and Ginger McKenna (Sharon Stone) and their onscreen romantic evening in the film “Casino” (1995) immortalizing 1970s and 1980s Las Vegas.
As the tour winds through the Neon Boneyard, visitors are treated to insights into movie premieres and filming locations, including the El Portal Theatre’s pre-release screening of “Ladies of the Mob” (1928) and Hard Rock Café featured in “Honey, I Blew Up the Kid” (1992). Also featured are Golden Nugget, Moulin Rouge, Flamingo, Steiner Cleaners, Skyway Drive-In, Lady Luck, Plaza Hotel & Casino, Nevada Motel, Algiers, the Fox Theater, and the Debbie Reynolds Hotel & Casino featured in "Behind the Candelabra” (2013).
A few other cinematic greats represented in the collection include Boulder Dam, (1936) Superman (1978), Spirit of Youth (1938), The Joe Louis Story (1953), Casablanca (1942), and of course the Chevy Chase and Beverley D’Angelo classic Vegas Vacation (1997). Join your fellow cinephiles and discover highlights from pre-code Hollywood to blockbusters that span Las Vegas’ history as the Entertainment Capital of the World.
