The Neon Museum is happy to announce that it has extended the submissions deadline for the 2019 Artist in Residence program. 

Prospective applicants now have until February 8th, 2019 at 5 PM (PST) to submit their completed application. The goal of the residency will focus on creating a project inspired by the Neon Museum collection and will span eight weeks, dates flexible, between June 1 and August 31, 2019.

So far, the Museum has received impressive submissions from talented, artistic professionals. U.S. based artists specializing in the fields of performance-based, interactive, visual and digital arts are encouraged to apply. The residency also includes a community engagement aspect which encourages the artist to foster a deeper working and educational relationship with the Las Vegas community.

Past participants of the Neon Museum Artist in Residence program include professional artists working in the fields of sculpture, printmaking, illustration, performance and other mediums whose works were inspired by the unique surrounding of Las Vegas’ brilliant neon landscape.

Artists are selected based on the criteria of demonstrated artistic excellence, quality and clarity of proposal, quality and benefit of the proposed public program and a demonstrated ability to complete projects on schedule. Previous experience with workshop development and implementation, community programming and collaborative work are an advantage but not a prerequisite.
